Young students on tricycles ride around the tiny city at Safety Town.

Ann Arbor Public Schools’ Recreation & Education Department is once again offering Safety Town, a 46-year-old summer program that teaches young children essential safety skills through hands-on learning.

The program, designed for incoming Young 5, Kindergarten, and First Grade students who turn 5 by December 1, 2025, teaches students how to identify safe and unsafe situations they might encounter in their daily lives.

AAPS Robotics team demonstrate their robots at the Project Lead the Way and Career Technical Education Expo

Students from across Ann Arbor Public Schools gathered at Skyline High School Commons to showcase their work at the district’s Project Lead the Way (PLTW) and Career Technical Education (CTE) Expo. The event featured projects from students in grades Y5-12, highlighting achievements in STEAM education and career preparation programs.

Logan Principal talks to a group of young students about the upcoming construction of a new Logan Elementary

Logan Elementary School hosted ceremonial groundbreaking activities on Monday, May 5th, to mark the beginning of construction for its new facility. The current school, located at 2685 Traverse Boulevard, will be relocated to a new site adjacent to nearby Clague Middle School.

Throughout the day, classes took commemorative photos with shovels and sand, symbolizing the start of this exciting new chapter for the school community.
