Art & Design
Art is a subject taught in school, but it is also a way of exploring and interacting with our world, learning about ourselves, and our community, and creating a future to meet our own highest expectations. Art is about life. It easily relates to and unites other subjects from the school curriculum. We can see where history meets literature in the artwork of Michelangelo. We can see where math, science and poetry collide in a kinetic sculpture by Theo Jansen. Through art we can also teach real world, critical and creative thinking skills, and self-reflection that help students to become productive and conscientious world citizens.
