Mr. Baker
I would like to welcome you to Kindergarten at A2 STEAM @ Northside. Kindergarten is a year of growing socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. I am thrilled to begin this new adventure with both you and your children.
I’m Drew Baker or Mr. Baker at school and I’ll be teaching your students this school year. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Eastern Michigan University. I’m currently in a master's program with Western Michigan University, for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I’m roughly halfway through and expected to graduate in June of 2025. Before becoming a teacher, I was a teaching assistant at Bach Elementary School for a number of years. My experience also includes working at The Children’s Creative Center, a local preschool in Ann Arbor where we have a non-profit that helps to support underprivileged and disadvantaged children...
Outside of teaching, I am a product of Ann Arbor Public Schools for my K-12 education (Lawton, Slauson, and Pioneer). I currently live on Whitmore Lake and enjoy spending as much time in the water as possible. I have a 9-year-old goldendoodle named Theo who my partner and I rescued during quarantine. We also have 8 chickens who provide us with eggs to support my enjoyment of cooking! I am an avid Michigan sports fan and enjoy getting to as many home games as I can. I really enjoy gardening and a new hobby of mine is keeping bonsai trees.

I would like to welcome all of you to Kindergarten at A2 STEAM @ Northside! I am very excited to start this school year in such a wonderful community and school. Kindergarten is a year of growing socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. I am thrilled to begin this new adventure with both you and your children.
My name is Jessica Cooper (Mrs. Cooper) and l have the pleasure of teaching your kindergarten student this year. If your child has older siblings at STEAM, you may have seen me around the building. I did some substitute teaching in first, fourth, and third grades last year. I live in Ann Arbor with my husband Jason, sons Max and Noah, and our dog Toby. When I am not in the classroom I can be found with my family playing golf, enjoying the outdoors, or snuggled up on the couch enjoying a good book or an interesting show on TV.
I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1999 with my teaching degree in Elementary Education and Drama and Theater for the Young; and my Masters In the Art of Teaching in 2008. I have been working in the Ann Arbor school district for 22 years. In the past, I taught first grade, second grade and third grade. I took a leave last year to support my boys and their transitions to their new buildings - Max (15) to Skyline and Noah (11) to A2STEAM! I fell in love with STEAM as a parent, and am ecstatic to join as a Kindergarten teacher this year.

My name is Alicia MacGeorge-Loomis, but as most of you have seen I go by Mrs. Loomis at school. I will have the pleasure of teaching your kindergarten students this year. I currently reside in Britton, MI with my husband Jeff, and daughters Grace and Paige. When I am not in the classroom I can be found with my family on our farm helping wherever I can.
I graduated from Siena Heights University in 2007 with my teaching degrees in Elementary Education and Art Education. I have been working in the Ann Arbor school district for the last 15 years; with the last 10 years here at STEAM in Kindergarten.
Communication is key to success in our classroom. I will start with weekly newsletters to families via email.
If during the school year your contact or email information changes, please notify me or the school office to update it. I look forward to all the adventures your students and I will share this year!
Welcome to an exciting year here at A2STEAM!
